Art Appreciation - Cultural Arts - Music Appreciation

The Fine Arts program at Holy Cross is designed to enhance and broaden the curriculum by presenting programs, speakers, field trips and other events that complement classroom themes. The program consists of Art Appreciation, Cultural Arts and Music Appreciation.
Each year the Art Appreciation volunteers select certain renowned artists in coordination with the art teacher. A presentation is then developed for each artist. Volunteers (Picture Ladies) then present to students on a classroom by classroom basis.

The Cultural Arts and Music Appreciation program contracts with artists throughout the year in order to bring to Holy Cross a variety of performances to the students to enhance their appreciation of the arts. Variety and curriculum enhancement are the aim when determining which performers to select each year. In recent years Holy Cross has hosted poetry readings, science productions, dramatic interpretations, musicals, a giant Earth balloon, dance groups and a group of “wild” animals to educate us on our environment.
