(2 - 8th grade parents)
Description of Program:
Coordinate all activities pertaining to the 8th
grade in harmony with teachers and Principal. Monitor all financial
aspects for the class.
Major Responsibilities:
- PSA monthly meetings
- Coordinate Room Parents: fundraisers, Nacho Day, 8th grade T-Shirts, dances
- Meet with the principal and teachers to plan Jr. High calendar for the year
- Coordinate
Jr. High Field Trips -with 6th & 7th grade coordinators, as
needed
- Plan events with teachers. Arrange date, time, cost, dress code, mode of transportation and prepare permission slip and collect money
- Arrange transportation for event
- Arrange chaperones for event
- Contract Disc Jockey for all quarterly dances - prepare permission slip, collect money
- Coordinate Social Dance class when it applies.
- Coordinate Nacho Days
- Prepare graduation/end of the year budget and fee schedule for 7th and 8th grade--due to families in April.
- Work with 7th grade coordinators with plans for 8th grade graduation (see the instruction sheet)
General Responsibilities
- Attend all monthly PSA meetings prepared to report on your program or function. If unable to attend, call the supervising vice-president with your report.
- Keep track of all time spent fulfilling your duties.
- Vote on measures placed before the PSA General Membership.
- Maintain current records of your job duties and the materials important to your program.
- Transfer all records to your successor on a timely basis.
- As a norm, when volunteering during school hours, volunteers should not bring small children. Guidelines found in the Parent-Student Handbook under "Visitors" (pg. 15) apply.
NOTE: It is recommended that a chairperson be appointed to handle the following:
• Coordinate Christmas Dinner/Dance and February Dance
- Prepare permission slip and distribute to teachers and chaperones
- Arrange gym, kitchen
and community room set-up
- Plan decorations,
food, drink for dinner and dance with room parent
