Fine Arts Program
Description of Program
This committee combines and coordinates
the efforts of the Cultural Arts and Community Classroom Enrichment
(CCE) committees. Showcase programs, speakers, field trips and topics
complementing classroom themes are planned and organized.
Cultural Arts Coordinator
Major Responsibilities:
- Check budget for current year,
- Ask teachers/Principal if there is any program
they request.
- Attend the Fall Showcase of Performers.
- Meet with fellow members following showcase to
plan the year’s performances.
- Call to arrange dates with performers.
- Get approval of dates through principal and school
calendar.
- Confirm dates with performers and arrange for contracts.
- Keep in contact with any teachers involved.
- Duties prior to performance include:
- Submit a calendar of all events and times for
the year and distribute to all teachers, and the principal.
- Submit date of performance to PSA newsletter
and calendar one month before.
- Submit requisition to maintenance staff and
Business Mgr for set up requirements seven (7) days prior
to performance. Follow up two (2) days before.
- Contact Coach if gym schedule is interrupted.
- Circulate any study guides to teachers well
in advance of performance.
- Submit requisition for performance payment
to PSA treasurer - 2 weeks prior.
- Confirm performer - 2 weeks prior.
- Duties on day of performance include:
- Assigned Committee members should be there
one hour prior to performance to assure chairs are set up
and assigned to each class, greet performer, make sure room
is clean and supplies present, etc.
- Direct teachers and students to properly assigned
chairs as they enter the gym.
- Announce performer.
- Stay after performance to assist in take down
of chairs and any equipment.
- Pay performer.
- Ask for feedback from those teachers involved.

General Responsibilities:

Attend all monthly PSA meetings prepared
to report on your program or function. If unable to attend, call
the supervising vice-president with your report.

Keep track of all time spent fulfilling
your duties.

Know the budget of your program,
and stay within that budget. Submit revenues and expenditures
to the Treasurer on a timely basis.

Vote on measures placed before the
PSA General Membership.

Maintain current records of your
job duties and the materials important to your program.

Transfer all records to your successor
on a timely basis.
Community Classroom Enrichment Program (CCE)
Description of Program:
Coordinate and schedule volunteers speakers
to assist with teachers with their curriculum.
Major Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between teachers, other volunteer
chairpersons, and the community volunteers.
- Locate resources of information and supplemental
materials for teachers on a request basis, or if you feel pertinent
as a supplement to curriculum.
- To secure speakers (volunteers) for he school on
a specific subject or a general learning area.
- Coordinate efforts with the remaining committees
regarding program dates, etc.
- Maintain current records of speakers, programs,
etc.
- Meet speaker in school office -- escort to the
speaking area, classroom, etc.
- Make thank you gift for the volunteer (non-paid
speaker).
