Market Day
Description of Program:
Fundraising program in which Market Day
food products are sold on a monthly basis.
Major Responsibilities:

Coordinate sale dates with school and
Market Day representative. Check school calendar carefully and clear
Community Room dates with Peg Brantman. Get approval from the Principal.
Provide final dates to office staff for school directory and calendars.

Have a Market Day table at the “Meet
Your Teacher Night” in the fall. Supply Market Day samples
(usually cookies) and coffee.

At beginning of school year, arrange
with the lunchroom monitors to have 6th grade students stack chairs
and move tables in Community Room. Arrange with 8th grade teachers
to have 8th grade helpers unload truck and organize food boxes during
their lunch break.

Distribute order sheets via mail and
through school, church and Pastoral Center.

Communicate via school bulletins or
newsletter any important information or promotions.

Collect sheets, tabulate and mail to
Market Day representative.

Coordinate volunteers and details for
day of sale.

Provide a list of sale dates to maintenance
so they can provide tables.

Make phone calls to those that do not
pick up their orders. Collect deducts (checks for orders not picked
up on time.) Give all checks to Treasurer for deposit.

Arrange with 7th grade teachers for
their students to work the last month or two of the school year
to train for next year.
